FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Art Water Bottle - Manal Al Dowayan (Saudi Arabia)

Celebrate sports, art and culture, and embrace sustainability with FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ art water bottles. Designed by Saudi Arabian artist Manal Al Dowayan, this water bottle will continue to tell the story of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and its moment in history whilst spreading the message of environmental protection and sustainability even beyond the tournament. The design was inspired from an existing work I made 20 years ago. It is titled "The Choice" and addresses the subject of women's access to sports and physical education. Featured in this image is a woman who had been an athlete and played soccer so well she gained a study scholarship abroad, yet back in 2005 when I took this image, she was not allowed to play sports in the public space. Today Saudi Arabia is looking to the future of sports for both men and women and I am inspired by the optimism the future holds for its athletes.
