A magnet inspired by large earrings known as karnphul, from the Hindi term, karanphu, meaning "ear flower", a Museum of Islamic Art collection. The karnphuls come from tradition of originally placing a single fresh flower in the woman's earlobe (Mughal period 11th century AH/17th century CE). The earrings are decorated with ruby, emerald and diamond foliate clusters surrounded by seed pearls. Such earrings were mostly worn by Muslim women in Rajasthan.
