Acrylic Tray Royal Stallion, with art inspired by 17th century Indian miniature paintings, displayed at MIA. When religions intermingle with harmony, art reaches its zenith. The beautiful artwork on this piece is inspired by such camaraderie and depicts the illustrious Hindu text “Ramayanam”. Mughal emperor, Akbar the Great, encouraged friendship between two stalwart religions, Hinduism and Islam, by commissioning the translation and illustration of this great Hindu epic, that is said to have written by the wise sage Valmiki, in 3000BC.
