Cass Art Sketching Workshop - Adults

Two-day workshop with art teacher and illustrator Rehin Kader! This interactive workshop will explore the core fundamentals of pencil sketching and provide in-depth techniques to enhance your skills.

About the artist:
With over 35 years of artistic experience, Rehin Kader has earned recognition for his works, which have been exhibited at prestigious galleries, including The White Majlis at the FBQ Museum. Having previously led sketching workshops at Cass Art Qatar, he’s returning by popular demand to offer an extensive 2-day, hands-on course.

Materials to be provided for adults:
•    Derwent Sketching Wallet Set
•    Cass Art Cartridge Pad 

Course outline for adults:
15 Feb: Introduction to drawing, proportion, and depth.
•    Course Overview.
•    Fundamentals of drawing: negative/positive space, gesture drawing, line quality, and composition.
•    Proportion and placement: proportions of objects/figures, geometric forms, and depth.
•    Practice: quick exercises on gesture drawing and composition.

22 Feb: Volume, Perspective, and Application to Portrait and Abstract
•    Perspective review: one/two-point perspective, grid use.
•    Volume and weight in drawing: Shading, tone, and depth.
•    Portrait and abstract: drawing portraits, abstract expression through lines.
•    Final Presentation: artwork critique and discussion of progress.
