NMOQ Dugong Mascot Mug

In recent times the largest herds in the world, comprising between 600 to 700 dugongs have been recorded to congregate in the waters surrounding the peninsula.

NMoQ chose the dugong as its mascot in order to further boost its message of sustainability and environmental awareness, as, unfortunately, dugongs face the threat of extinction due to commercial fishing, vessel strikes and environmental degradation.
