May Al Mannai "Chalbet el Gaila" Magnet

A magnet inspired by a large-scale mix media painting, its surrealism invites the spectator to get lost in thought and wander into to a dream world. The original painting called "Chalbet el Gaila" was created by May Al-Mannai who is a Qatari self-taught visual artist and illustrator. The piece is on display at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art as part of the Majaz: Contemporary Art Qatar exhibition, which highlights some of the most impressive work from the Fire Station: Artist in Residence (AIR) programme and is a testament to the flourishing art scene in Qatar.
