Picasso Pouch – Dove of Peace
The motif on this tote bag is inspired by Pablo Picasso's famous drawing 'Dove of Peace' (1949). Picasso's first 'Dove of Peace', was chosen as the emblem for the First International Peace Conference in Paris in 1949. It was a traditional, realistic picture of a pigeon which had been given to him by his great friend and rival, the French artist Henri Matisse. Picasso later developed this image into a simple, graphic line drawing that is one of the world's most recognisable symbols of peace. Picasso’s daughter with Francoise Gilot was born the same day as the poster hit the streets of Paris. Because of this, they named her Paloma ('dove' in Spanish). Material: Cotton. Care instructions: Hand wash.
