Porcelain Magnet – Sheikh Saoud – Earrings

This porcelain magnet is inspired by an artifact collected by Sheikh Saoud Al Thani and is part of a series of merchandise that pays tribute to the upcoming exhibition: 'A Falcon's Eye.' This magnet takes inspiration from A pair of earrings: Southwestern Colombia, Calima river region, Yotoco-Malagana culture. C. 200BCE - 400 CE. Hammered and cut gold. Sheikh Saoud's legacy as a collector is of crucial importance to Qatar Museums as he laid the foundations of the major collections within the institution. Sheikh Saoud was attracted to jewellery and gems. He amassed a fascinating collection of gold from different regions and periods of Antiquity.
