This yellow Pu Bu Me Su Pisang/Banana fan is crafted from leather with each hole punched individually, and features a handle made of oxen horn. Handmade by traditional Javanese shadow puppet artisans, the leather is stretched and sun dried, with each blade painted by hand. Inspired by hanging bananas sold by market fruit vendors, this entirely handcrafted leather accessory adds the requisite finishing touch to your summer outfit. Pu Bu Me Su fashion accessories, created by Indonesian designer Putri Bunga Meita Soediono, specialise in handcrafted leather bags and fans with a traditional touch. The technique used to make the fan comes from the age-old Javanese tradition of creating leather shadow puppets for wayang kulit (a form of shadow puppet theatre).
