Tom Claassen Brass Oryx - Large

This collectors' edition bronze sculpture is a miniature replica of one of the oryx's featured in '8 Oryxes in Bronze' By Tom Claassen and is a great gift for any art lover.

This beautiful installation commissioned by Qatar Museums is currently located in the East Garden Court of the new Hamad International Airport (HIA) Doha. The series of sculptures of the oryx, an antelope native to the Arabian Peninsula, showcases one herd of eight similar but uniquely shaped and casted individual oryx, depicting unity through individuality. The herd as a whole becomes powerful in its identity generated by diversity. Dutch artist,Tom Claassen is best known for his public sculptures and installations, frequently featuring human subjects or animals similar to the oryx installation in Qatar. Claassen's sculptures have a simplicity that borders on toy-like abstraction.
